Meet, with passion
Published: June 18, 2009
For 40 years, we’ve been told, “Virginia is for Lovers.” But this anniversary year, the state is offering special group options to explore its wine, music, heritage and outdoor-adventure attractions. Pre-registered attendees can take the “passionality” quiz to discover their alter-Virginian-ego and a list of suggested activities. Groups can get up close and personal with giraffes, zebras and ostrich at the Safari Park in Shenandoah Valley; ride an ATV at the Virginia Motorsports Park near Petersburg; go on a hiking trail through the Blue Ridge Mountains; or catch the waves on a Back Bay Cruise through the Chincoteague and Assateague Islands. For unique team-building, head to a state park for the techno-sport Geocaching, where teams use GPS units to find hidden treasures. Or take advantage of Virginia’s “40 Free Things To Do.”
