2009 World Savers announced

Condé Nast Traveler named several hotels, an airline, a cruise line and a tour operator as its 2009 World Savers — travel companies around the world who have shown leadership in social responsibility initiatives such as poverty alleviation, cultural/environmental preservation, education programs and more. D.C.’s Willard InterContinental won the award in the City Hotel category, The Ritz-Carlton won in the Large Chains category, The Haciendas won in the Small Chains category, Bushmans Kloof won in the Small Resorts category, Puntacana Resort & Club in the Large Resorts category and Accor Hotels tops the list in the Health Initiatives category; Ecoventura was the top cruise line, Japan Airlines was the top airline and Gap Adventures was the top tour operator.
