Spurgeon Richardson, president and CEO of the Atlanta Convention & Visitors Bureau, will leave the CVB after 17 years of service at the end of 2008. A national search for his replacement is underway.

Chef Eric LeVine of Atlanta-based Chef Eric Catering won The International Caterers Association’s Chef of the Year Award.

Atlanta-based Caren West PR beat out finalists O Magazine and Realtor Magazine to win the FAME Best Special Event of 2007 for its one-year anniversary party for Skirt! Magazine.

Bethani Blair was named sales manager of the New Orleans Metropolitan Convention and Visitors Bureau’s new Southwest Regional Office in Dallas. Mary Calvert has joined the CVB’s Midwest sales team in Chicago; Carol Daugherty has joined the CVB’s Eastern regional market sales team in Alexandria, Va.

Denise Stokes became public relations/communications manager of the Frisco [Texas] Convention & Visitors Bureau; Jennifer Kimble was named tourism and convention sales manager.
