Bernard Garnier was promoted to food and beverage manager of the Hilton Tucson [Ariz.] El Conquistador Golf & Tennis Resort.
The Brown Palace Hotel and Spa in Denver, Colo., added Ryan Wickstrom and Mike White as national sales managers, and made two promotions in the catering and conference services departments. Wickstrom handles the Northeast, Texas and Louisiana markets and some local accounts; White manages Midwest group business and a portion of the Denver market. Liz Cantrell was promoted to senior conference services manager overseeing the conference service department and all VIP groups. Heather Freund was promoted to catering sales manager.
Annette Quintana was named the 2008 chair of the Denver Metro Convention & Visitors Bureau.
Efrain Vargas and Kristine Messuri-Cloonan became national sales managers for the Regal Sun Resort in Orlando’s Walt Disney World Resort complex.
Pat J. Engfer and Richard A. Nunis were inducted into the Central Florida Hospitality Hall of Fame. Engfer is a 30-year Hyatt veteran; Nunis recently retired as chairman of The Walt Disney Co. after a 44-year career with the company.
Jorge Pesquera has been named the new president and chief executive officer of the Palm Beach County Convention and Visitors Bureau.
