2007 Lodging industry profile released

In 2006, hotel industry revenue increased to $133.4 billion, up from $122.7 billion in 2005, according to the American Hotel & Lodging Association’s (AHLA) 2007 Lodging Industry Profile.

The average room rate in 2006 was $97.78, up from $90.88 in 2005 and $86.23 in 2004, with business travelers spending an average of $112 per night. The report also found 35 percent of all business travelers spend one night, 26 percent spend two nights and 39 percent spend three or more nights.
