Zipping to the airport?

Published: November 6, 2007

Traffic congestion is a problem nearly everywhere you go. As a result, there are more inventive solutions and modes of transport than ever before. Here’s a look at some creative ways to get your attendees to and from the airport:

  • Motorcycle taxis - Motorcycles are able to weave in and out of traffic in a way no car ever could. In London, services offering these “limo bikes” include Virgin Limobike, Addison Lee Taxybikes and Passenger Bike. City Bird provides motorcycle taxis in Paris. Storage space is limited to a laptop bag and a few smaller items, however.
  • Helicopter taxis - Wave goodbye to highway pileups from the air. US Helicopter in New York drops off Delta and Continental Airlines passengers on the secure side JFK airport, so they can bypass security lines; service also is available to Newark.
  • Airport ferry - The SkyPier connects Hong Kong Internationl Airport to six ports in the Pearl River Delta: Shenzhen Shekou, Shenzhen Fuyong, Macau, Zhongshan, Humen and Zhuhai Jiuzhou. Private charters are available from companies such as TurboJet Sea Express.
