Farecast begins forecasting hotel rates

Published: September 4, 2007

Online search engine Farecast is launching a hotel search tool to help users find the best room rates in major U.S. cities. The company, which already has a popular online tool forecasting the rise and fall of airfares, has launched a beta version of its hotel search engine with information on 30 cities.

City searches reveal which hotels are offering deals, and which are charging average rate or above-average rates. Plans call for available search dates and cities to be added, and consumers will be able to connect directly to hotels from the site.
