Regent Seven Seas Cruises launches amphibious ultra-luxury brand

Published: April 5, 2006

Carlson Companies’ Regent Hotels and Radisson Seven Seas Cruises merged under the global Regent banner, and re-branded itself as Regent Seven Seas Cruises.

"By aligning our ships and hotels, we’re able to create a seamless integration of ship-to-shore experiences," says Jay Witzel, president and CEO of Carlson Hotels Worldwide and CEO of Carlson Cruises Worldwide. "In providing our guests with the settings and the means to explore and experience the world’s destinations their own way, we’re engaging more deeply in one of the most vibrant segments in hospitality and travel." The luxury line will operate out of the company’s cruise ship headquarters in Fort Lauderdale, Fla.
