LIVE 2008 Atlanta

Five years ago, WiFi Internet was considered a pipe dream. Today, it is everywhere. Think of how many gadgets we use that didn’t exist five, 10, 15 years ago. Cell phones and laptop computers have revolutionized the way we do business. It’s possible to attend a convention half-way across the world without leaving your desk. What lies ahead?

Join us for a very special LIVE Event at The Retreat of Dunwoody on September 23 as we peer into the future and focus on meeting technology. This is going to be fun: Hands-on demonstrations, interactive education and cool, new ideas you can use at your next event. You’ll also have the opportunity to do research and form relationships at our intimate tradeshow.

Keynote Speaker

Emergent Technologies for Meeting Professionals

Presented by James Hogg

This presentation will focus on emergent technologies that will shape the future of meetings and events. There are many new terminologies such as RSS feeds, WIKI’s & Blogs, and Podcast that some planners might be aware, but even as we meet today these are becoming old terminologies and technologies. The internet is changing, computer systems are changing, how we interface with our computers is changing and the world has gone mobile. What does all this mean for our industry? What are the new technologies of the future? This presentation will provide an overview of new and emerging technologies that will shape our industry today and for the years ahead.

After attending this session participants will be able to:

1. Understand how the internet and computer systems are changing
2. Identify some new emerging technologies of the future
3. Use internet tools to stay informed of new technologies today and tomorrow
4. Understand how to use emergent technologies to impact your meetings

I wasn’t sure what to expect from the smaller show, but I really like it. In terms of the tradeshow, I liked the intimacy of it. At the Expo, I didn’t have enough time to see everyone. I love your magazine. — Georgia Roy
