LIVE 2008 Atlanta
Welcome to Plan Your Meetings LIVE 2008. We’ve added new dates, new locations, new educational opportunities and new keynotes — in other words, a fresh start for a year that promises new challenges in an industry that keeps growing and evolving. Online and in print, we’ve been writing (and talking to you) about new technology, generational challenges in the workplace and today’s economic realities. Our LIVE events focus on these issues and more — offering you vendor information, networking fun and creative ideas as well.
The theme of our spring events is “Maximize Your Growth.” (Lettuce us root your business… It’s thyme to think about the budget… Sage advice about getting along with your younger (older) co-worker… Oops, sorry, got carried away — but you get the idea!)
We want to recharge your creative juices, refresh your inventory of resources, and make sure your meetings bloom with results.
So plan to join us. Connect with other planners, exhibitors and our staff. Get involved and have fun (see some of the tips on this page to maximize your event).
If you need a note for your boss, let me know. I’ll convince her or him that you’ll be working hard all day (wink) but it will pay off in spades. If it will help, I’ll even include a packet of seeds to let them know that you’ll be spending the day growing with Plan(t) Your Meetings.

Planners in the hot seat: Crisis Management
Presented by Jackie Thornton, M.S., CMP On March 14, a tornado cut a six-mile swath through Atlanta, disrupting major meetings and events, and damaging important convention hotels and facilities. Meeting planners’ motto is “be prepared,” but many don’t spend as much time as they should planning for emergencies such as natural disasters. Jackie Thornton, M.S., CMP, leads a special session on crisis management, using case studies from companies and events displaced by the storm to help planners develop their own contingency plans.
