Want unusual venues?

The Huntsville Museum of Art has gallery space that may be reserved for private functions of up to 350 people. Other amenities include group tours and Café Baba. The Early Works Museum Complex has several unique venues, including The Roundhouse and the Grand Hall. The Roundhouse, located near the Huntsville Depot, has 7,500 square feet of space and can hold up to 1,000 people. The 3,500-sq. ft. Grand Hall can hold up to 500 people. Several rooms (The Arbor, Murray Hall, Boeing Education Classroom, and The Nature Center) at the Huntsville Botanical Garden accommodate groups of 10-200 people. The U.S. Space and Rocket Center can host dinners for up to 4,000. Up to 1,500 guests can dine under the Saturn V Rocket at the Davidson Center for Space Exploration, which also has interactive exhibits.

Want group dining?

The Jazz Factory features California cuisine and has a cigar bar and billiards. Treat your guests to an upscale meal at The Chophouse. If you’re feeling more casual, check out Humphrey’s Bar and Grill or Mason’s Pub. Huntsville’s newest stay and play development, Bridge Street Town Centre, is home to popular restaurants Dolce, Ketchup and P.F. Chang’s. When you’re done with dinner, tour Bridge Street and enjoy its carousel, Venetian gondola, pedal boats and upscale shops.

Want to team-build?

Send attendees to Space Camp at the U.S. Space and Rocket Center. Each program is customized to meet group training needs and goals. Astronaut guest speakers, team videos and merchandise also are available. Team build with Huntsville’s skyline as a backdrop at Burritt on the Mountain. As employees bond in the Trillium Room, family members can explore the picturesque grounds or Dr. Burritt’s Mansion.

Want to transport your groups back in time?

The Twickenham Historic District is full of Victorian homes dating back to the 19th century. Outfit attendees with a self-guided CD of the Twickenham Historic District (available from the Visitor’s Center). The Veterans Memorial Museum has more than 30 historical military vehicles, artifacts and other memorabilia from World War I to the present on display. Other historical venues include the Weeden House Museum, the North Alabama Railroad Museum and the Burritt Mansion.

Need items for gift baskets?

Surprise attendees with chocolates in the shape of the Saturn V from Choc-O-Lot. Or shop for items at The U.S. Space and Rocket Center, the Early Works Museum Complex, the Huntsville Botanical Garden or the Huntsville Museum of Art’s gift shops.

Want to pamper attendees?

Treat your guests to spa treatments during coffee breaks. The Heavenly Spa at the Westin can provide mini treatments like chair massages, and hand or eye treatments.

What you should know

The U.S. Space and Rocket Center is the largest attraction in Alabama and the reason why this Northern Alabama town is referred to as Rocket City USA. It's a budget-friendly destination, too. Attractions include a stunning historic district and year-round golf. Flights arrive at the Huntsville International Airport, which is attached to a 148-room Four Points Sheraton and an 18-hole golf course.

What may surprise you…

One of the most technologically advanced convention centers in the Southeast, the 170,000-sq. ft. Von Braun Center, is here. Huntsville also has a Four-Star hotel, The Westin.
