Create a floating dinner on Lake Oconee or Lake Sinclair, take a carriage tour of historic Madison, go hot air ballooning from Cuscowilla, or play paintball in teams. Consider putting together a golf tournament or group lessons.

In Milledgeville, unusual venues include Lockerly Arboretum, the Old Governor’s Mansion and Georgia Military College. Madison has the Morgan County African-American Museum, the Madison Museum of Fine Art, Heritage Hall and The Rogers House/Rose Cottage. In Eatonton, Cuscowilla on Lake Oconee has a Southern Living Idea House with a private boat dock and helicopter pad, a golf house with a terrace overlooking the 14th tee, and golf cottages and lake villages that accommodate small meetings.

Three 85-acre parks are located on Lake Oconee, which has picnic areas, a beach, boat ramps and playgrounds, and is known as one of America’s best bass-fishing lakes. Lake Sinclair is one of Georgia’s most popular boating and fishing areas, and also has a recreational beach and park. Wildwood Park has horseback trails, sailing and sandy beaches
