• On March 29, the Atlanta CVB launches the Connect Atlanta Card, a multi-day, multi-attraction card that gives visitors discounts on popular Atlanta attractions such as the aquarium and the World of Coca-Cola. Two cards, a Downtown Connects Card and an All Around Atlanta Connects Card, will be available from the Atlanta CVB and local merchants. For more information, visit atlanta.net .

• Château Élan's corporate development and teambuilding center, lapdog inc., has a portable challenge course that can be brought to your Georgia-based clients and used indoors or outdoors. Other experiential learning and teambuilding tools offered by lapdog include team excursions (caving, climbing, rappelling), team adventures (timed obstacle courses and team challenges) and high ropes challenge courses, where participants are supervised and encouraged to take planned, intentional risks that illuminate the benefits of risk-taking and change.

Tips

• If you've got a group with an active bent and are looking for an affordable, drive-in market, take a look at some of Alabama's cities. This year has been trumpeted as "The Year of Outdoor Alabama," and the state is offering several outdoor expos throughout 2006. In addition to the Robert Trent Jones Golf Trail, outdoor attractions include great fishing, hunting, hiking, canoeing, eco-tours and camping in state parks and on the state's waterways. A recently published, 120-plus-page book, "Outdoor Alabama," would make a great takeaway, and a traveling photography exhibit is making its way across the state. • When choosing entertainment, think about the layout of your room. Will a single performer be swallowed up? If so, consider booking a band. But know your audience, a group that works well in a club may not transfer well to a ballroom full of people.
