Pillow favors make excellent mementos

Published: April 5, 2005

Pillow gifts may be left in guest rooms at the beginning or end of the event as an incentive or a memento, or every day of the meeting to reinforce the meeting’s message. Baskets of fruit, cookies or a bottle of wine with a selection of cheeses are common, but always welcome at check-in.

Better yet, go local – pralines or beignets and mugs with packages of coffee from Cafe du Monde in New Orleans, hot salsa and chips in Dallas, a basket of peanuts from Plains in Georgia, a tote with sun block, a T-shirt and sunglasses in Fort Lauderdale… you get the idea. Or tie the gift to your event, i.e. golf balls with the company logo. At the end of the stay, bags with the company or resort’s logo come in handy to carry home gifts, souvenirs or paperwork.
