Who we are

Plan Your Meetings (PYM) is a free educational and social resource for people who plan meetings.

We publish an annual magazine and planning guide; distribute a monthly digital edition full of trends, tips, hot ideas, destination guides and advice; have online resources at PlanYourMeetings.com; and produce regular LIVE Events providing planners with educational sessions, networking opportunities and the tools to advance their careers. We also connect them with industry suppliers and resources to help them create better meetings and events.

Subscriptions to the magazine and online resources are free. Live events have educational sessions certified by the Convention Industry Council, so planners gain continuing education units just for attending them.

Why what we do is important for planners

We began more than 12 years ago to reach out to administrative assistants and people who were not typically called “meeting planners,” but who usually planned all the company’s events, from its picnics and parties to training seminars and annual conventions.

Some companies have one person who does this, some companies have 30 or more administratives all working on different events, and some outsource all their meetings to a team in its corporate headquarters. Most of the people planning these meetings were thrown into what they do. We offer them a support network, information and guidance, as well as an introduction to some of the best convention and visitors bureaus, hotels, special facilities, transportation providers, and other industry suppliers throughout the Southeastern and Southwestern United States.

Everything we do is designed to help our planners create better meetings and events.

Why you should advertise

Due to our longevity, word-of-mouth and the quality of our services, our audience has grown to include certified meeting professionals, and high-level corporate, third-party, association and independent planners. But the core of our audience remains those hard-to-reach planners who typically fly under the radar. Many of them are unaware that there are associations for meeting planners or any type of certification available, so they are not on the lists that are usually readily available.

For more than 12 years, we have dedicated ourselves to finding out who they are, what they need and who they want to do business with. We introduce them to our advertising partners — the facilities and services that will make their planning easier — and create opportunities for those personal and business relationships to thrive.

Our partner programs are constantly evolving, and are based on what planners want and what our partners need to succeed. When you join PYM as an advertising partner, you are not just buying a print ad or Web real estate; you also are creating a relationship and a strategic partnership designed to make the most of a shifting marketplace.
